Peter Jensen - Approaching The Start of His 9th Decade, & Still Lifting Strong
If
NASA
adds the Masters 80+ Division, Wisconsin's Peter Jensen may be the first to set American Records in it. The U.S. Army Veteran turns 80 in September, and he shows now signs of slowing down soon. In fact, he was successful on 11 out of 13 attempts, earlier this year, at the Natural Nationals in
Oklahoma City
.
Peter started his lifting career by entering a few unsanctioned Meets, but has lifted exclusively in NASA for the past 7 years. At the 21st Natural Nationals Banquet in January, he was named 2009 Master's 4 Power Sports Lifter of the Year. At 79 years of age, Jensen Curls 50% of bodyweight, Benchpresses &
Squats
over 200 Lbs., and Deadlifts nearly 400 Lbs. in the 198 Weight Class.
Peter is also a
NASA Announcer
and regularly helps with the administration of NASA Meets in
Wisconsin
when he is not lifting. Here is a photo of Jensen squatting at the 2006
Veteran's Day
Meet, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
