Henry: I wa s 13 years old when I first started training with weights. My first powerlifting meet was at 17 years of age. Simply put, I became a lifter "To be the Best!!!"

Wendy: How is your training different for each meet?

Henry: I take trouble-shooting video footage at almost every training workout, and at every meet. Then I review the footage to identify keys to getting stronger.

Wendy: Do you have anybody that you consider to be a lifting mentor or somebody who motivates you?

Henry: On a training day this would be Sean Donegan and others at the Bad Attitude Gym. At a meet this would be Rich Peters and sometimes Lee Eliff. In between, I use all of the haters on the internet for motivation. I, use them.

Wendy: Where do you train and why?

Henry: I train at Sean Donegan's Bad Attitude Gym in Dallas. The strongest guys in Texas train there.

Wendy: Is there a retired lifter, or somebody who is still lifting, who you consider to be your idol?

Henry: None. Nobody.

Wendy: How has being a strength athlete affected your personal life?

Henry: Personal life? My cycle has become Work, Eat, Sleep, Powerlifting---Repeat.

Wendy: What are your personal goals over the next year or two?

Henry: In singly-ply gear: SQ 1050, BP 750, DL 710. In double-ply gear: SQ 1200, BP 785, DL 750.

Wendy: What is your favorite lifting event(curls, squat, benchpress, deadlift)?

Henry: By far, it is the Squat!!!

Wendy: What are your personal bests in the gym and your personal bests in a meet?

Henry: My best lifts are usually at meets. In single-ply they are 1003-710-705. In double-ply they are 1050-710-700. And raw they are 766-400-688.

Wendy: Where has been your favorite place to travel to, and compete, in a meet?

Henry: That would be Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona. It is a GREAT meet site. My family lives about 15 minutes from the school.

Wendy: What is your philosophy on training or where do you get your training tips?

Henry: My philosophy, in its beautiful simplicity, is that Form is nearly everything. Have good form, learn your gear, and good things will happen.

Wendy: Currently, do you have "rival" lifter who you would like to defeat on the platform?

Henry: None. I am mostly going for all-time records now.

Wendy: Are you excited about the upcoming PRO meet?

Henry: I am not personally that excited because I am not participating this year. However, I want to wish "good luck" to all of my fellow lifters who are competing in the PRO meet.

Wendy: Please discuss any topic we haven't touched on or anything you want people to know about you that we haven't discussed?

Henry: Remember, this is a hobby!!! People need to keep lifting in perspective and have fun with it.
